I am honored to be associated with Sandra, Mark LaFlamme, and Canines For Heroes. They are two shining examples of success in the community that supports Veterans and First Responders. I am proud to know them personally and professionally, and delighted by the life-changing work they do every day to improve so many lives. Since meeting the couple, I have been inspired by their ambition, compassion for people in need of help, and commitment to making a positive difference in this world. As highly respected business leaders with an impressive track record of successes both large and small, there is no doubt that they bring an admirable passion for philanthropy along with a vibrant energy and creativity that enables them to make an indelible impact on those around them!

As pet owners, my family knows how much a dog can impact our lives in many positive ways. Harper, my Redtick Coonhound, was more than just a dog; she was my constant companion and friend. Harper had a playful personality that always impressed me, and her loyal behavior made her an exceptional pet. In this blog post, I will share my experience with Harper, my dear Coonhound who was well-behaved and always excited to see me.

Harper was an integral part of our family. Her impressive antics instantly melted our hearts, and it was not long before she had us wrapped around her little paws. Harper’s favorite pastime was playing ball, chasing me around the yard, and wagging her tail all day long. She had an energetic personality and never said no to a good workout. Even when I was having a bad day, Harper’s playful attitude was all it took to put a smile on my face.

As a home-schooled child, I spent most of my day at my parents’ office. When I came home, she instinctively knew when I needed her by my side, and her company provided the perfect respite when I needed to take a break from my work. Harper also had a calming presence, and having her on my lap was always a treat while I sat outside enjoying the weather.

Sadly, as Harper grew older, she became too big for our backyard. The thought of having to part with Harper was heart-wrenching. But, it was clear that we needed to find her a more appropriate home. We found her a loving and caring family who is always on the go, engaging in a variety of exhilarating activities such as running, participating in triathlons, and kayaking. Not to mention, their household is filled with other furry animals, adding even more excitement to their lives. With such a dynamic lifestyle and a menagerie of pets, Harper never runs out of things to do and experiences to cherish.

Harper, my Coonhound, may have been just a dog to others, but she was my beloved companion and friend. Her playful personality, loyalty, and well-behaved nature were impressive, and I will always cherish the memories we shared. Every dog is unique and special in their way, and Harper was no exception. I learned a lot from her and enjoyed every moment we spent together. Even though we had to say goodbye, I am grateful for the time we had together. Harper, you were one of a kind, and you will always be remembered with much love and affection.

Service dogs offer a unique set of benefits that can impact the lives of Veterans and First Responders. The support, independence, and companionship that service dogs offer are extremely valuable to individuals with physical, emotional, and mental disabilities. Harper, my pet dog, changed my life, and I am grateful to know an organization brings together Veterans and First Responders. Service dogs are more than just pets; they are highly trained companions who bring comfort, safety, and peace to their owners. As we continue to learn more about the benefits of service dogs, it is clear that they are a vital part of many people’s lives and should be celebrated for their contributions.
