Turning away from the oppression in my life and turning toward play has brought a new freedom. My Canines For Heroes Belgium Malimois Foundation Dog™ is like “Turning On Play”. Another way to say “turning on play” could be starting the game, initiation of play, or commencing play. It’s the opposite of oppression wrapped in a fur missile of love. I sleep better. I feel better.

How can a man and his dog by asymmetrical? Just look and see! Asymmetrical balance is achieved by the careful closeness of different elements; small, bright shapes can balance out large dull shapes. Asymmetrical balance is considered to be more dynamic because it integrates a variety of shapes, sizes, colors, textures, and lines. Imagine finding the right companion for recovery and healing: and not in a pill, weed, or booze. I did. It has made all the difference in my life. While for many people, a cherished pet may fill that role, for some, it goes deeper with an animal of an entirely different variety -service animals. For me, my service dog Gunner is more than just a beloved four-legged friend – he changed my life entirely! He opened up opportunities and gave me a freedom I had never experienced before and I will never forget all he does to help me get on the path toward health and recovery.
